Driveway Repaving in Morris County, NJ
When cracks spread across the whole surface, the problem usually sits in the base under the asphalt. We repave driveways the way we build new ones: the old asphalt comes out, the base gets rebuilt and compacted, the pitch gets reset, and our own crew lays the new surface.

Repave or Sealcoat: How to Tell
Sealcoating protects asphalt that is still sound. It cannot repair a base that has failed, and any coating or thin overlay placed on top of one cracks again along the same lines. The surface itself shows you which situation you have, and we read it with you during a free walk-through.
Widespread alligator cracking means the base has moved and repaving is the durable fix
Low spots that hold water after rain point to settlement in the base underneath
Crumbling edges usually mean the asphalt was laid without enough support at the sides
Isolated cracks on a surface that still drains can often wait, and we will say so

Tear-Out and Base Rebuild
We remove the old asphalt completely and haul it away, which is the only way to see the true condition of the base. Soft spots get dug out, new stone goes in, and the whole base is compacted before paving starts. The NJ utility mark-out gets called in before we open the ground, as state law requires.

Pitch Correction While the Base Is Open
A repave is the one chance to change how water moves across your driveway. With the old surface out, we reset the base grades so runoff sheds to the sides or toward a drain instead of collecting in low spots or heading for the garage. If the driveway needs a trench drain, we install it during the same project.

New Asphalt From Our Own Paver
The crew that quotes the job is the crew that paves it, running our own equipment on site. Recent work includes a 90-ton driveway in Harding and a tear-out and repave of more than 7,000 square feet in Mahwah. Belgian block or cobblestone edging can be added for a finished border, and the new surface needs a few days to cure before it takes traffic.

Common questions
Before You Call
How is repaving different from sealcoating?
Sealcoating is a surface treatment that slows weathering on asphalt that is still in good shape. Repaving removes the old asphalt and rebuilds from the base up. If the base has failed, sealcoating only hides the damage for a season. We check the base during the estimate and tell you which one the driveway actually needs.
Can you change the slope of my driveway during a repave?
Yes. Tear-out is the right time to fix pitch, because the base grades are open and can be reset. We slope the driveway so water sheds away from the garage and the house, and we can add a trench drain where the grade alone cannot carry the water off.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Bruno Enterprises (Bruno Inc.) is a licensed and insured New Jersey home improvement contractor (NJ license #13VH13550100). You can verify the license with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.
