French Drains for Wet Lawns
A French drain is perforated pipe set in a stone-filled trench wrapped in filter fabric. It collects the water sitting in the soil, the kind that keeps a lawn spongy for days after rain, and carries it to a discharge point. Placement decides whether it works, so we route the run through the wet ground itself and give the pipe continuous fall to its outlet.

Keeping Water Out of the Basement
Most wet basements start outside the house. Grades that slope toward the foundation and downspouts that discharge at the corners load the soil against the wall until the water finds a way in. The usual fix combines regrading, piping the roof water away underground, and a French drain along the foundation wall. If the water is coming up from under the slab instead, we say so and recommend the right specialist for that work.

Buried pipe cannot overcome a surface that pitches the wrong way, so many drainage jobs include grading work. We walk the property and look at where the water stands, where erosion lines run, where the downspouts discharge, and which way the grades fall. That walk usually identifies the source, and the estimate is built around fixing it rather than guessing. Site visits and estimates are free.
